Biography

In commercial real estate, Tom has come to specialize in the history and sale of churches and church-related properties including schools, rectories, convents, and vacant land. Within the last several years, he has listed and sold over 25 of such properties for various denominations. He has been referred to as “The Churchman” by his co-workers. Tom works very closely with the Diocese of Pittsburgh, marketing many of their properties.

Tom began his professional career with Georgia-Pacific in Baltimore, MD as a lumber trader after college. He opened and managed a distribution center in Hagerstown, MD, where he remained until 1995. Tom then began working for a larger building material wholesaler with a territory in Montgomery County, MD and Northern VA. He moved back to Pittsburgh in 2003 and started his career with Howard Hanna Commercial (now Hanna Commercial) in 2004.

Tom graduated from Churchill Area High School in 1967 and from Waynesburg College in 1971

Personal

Born and raised in the Pittsburgh area, Tom currently lives in Plum Boro. Tom has three grown sons and six grandchildren from his previous marriage in Maryland. While his children were small, Tom served on the neighborhood little league’s Board of Directors for 8 years. He also officiated high school football for 12 years. He has since remarried and has 4 step-children and one additional grandchild.
